Forgive but don't forget
it’s almost like you cured her.
the scars slowly faded and a glowed overwhelmed her heart.
she wasn’t the girl she wanted to be,
but she made that girl into a work of art.
she’ll never say it, but you rescued her.
she’d been drowning in tears and blood that invaded the bathroom floor.
she thinks of you highly; as if you were pure.
but the thoughts still linger, more and more.
she’s tired of picking herself up over again.
she’s tried to be the girl everyone wants her to become.
but the more she tries to fill that role in,
the more she feels like she can never get home.
